As we approach the end of ARCS Oregon’s fiscal year, we want to thank everyone who has contributed to the continued success of ARCS Foundation Oregon over the past months. Whether you are a member or a friend, thank you. The ARCS mission to further science in the United States is more important than ever, and your support of our work is appreciated. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, ARCS Foundation Oregon funded 92 scholars at our three partner universities last year! Our membership is strong (at 126!), and we have every reason to be optimistic about the coming year. Our need to find a stable source of operations funding will be top of mind during the next fiscal year, but we are confident in our ability to meet this challenge, as we have met other challenges over the past 21 years. The Strategic Plan Implementation Group has been working hard, along with Interim Executive Director Carol Hickman, to operationalize the recommendations set forth in our three-year Strategic Plan, and, with the help of our Board and Committee Chairs, we will implement these recommendations in the coming months.  

 Meanwhile, it’s summer! ARCS Oregon leadership will meet periodically through July and August to ensure that our work moves forward seamlessly, and we hope that all of you will be taking some time off to enjoy the beautiful Oregon weather. The newsletter will not be published in July or August but will return in the fall. Until then, we wish you all a safe, healthy, and happy summer!
