The first awardee is a relatively new member, but she jumped right in with both feet when she joined us in 2020. Turns out, this is her general approach to life: Anything worth doing is worth giving it your all! Her super power is her ability to approach all challenges with a calm rationality that is impressive to behold.  When we needed to enter hundreds of scholar names and related information into our new CRM in a very short time period last fall, she said, “I can do that.” And she did.
At the helm of the Scholar Relations Committee she has instituted communications with scholars that really work and has developed great rapport with them. She and her husband, Paul, will share the funding of a scholar in the OSU School of Engineering beginning in 2025.
A willingness to help must run in the genes because her aunt, Barbara Giesy, received this award last year. Of course, I am speaking of Linda Gilham.
