Throughout the course of my membership in ARCS, I have been inspired by the dedication to our mission that is clearly demonstrated by our volunteer leaders. As President, I am so grateful for this level of commitment, which I have rarely seen anywhere else in my volunteer service.  

Each year, ARCS Foundation Oregon honors one of its exceptional volunteer leaders with an “ARCS Light” award. This award is special because it allows members to share appreciation and perspectives about those who have exhibited the kind of leadership and dedication for which ARCS volunteers are known. 

To nominate a member, please send me a confidential email (emebell90@gmail.com) by 1/30/23 sharing the reasons you think their volunteerism and leadership should be recognized by the Chapter. Below are the qualifications for the award: 

• Membership in ARCS for at least 3 years 
• Board and committee service 
• Positively impacted the organization 
• Not be a sitting President 

I will be leading a small committee of former award recipients who will review nominations and choose this year’s recipient. The ARCS Light Recipient for 2023 will be announced at the Annual Membership Meeting scheduled for Saturday, June 24.
