We are delighted to welcome you to the ARCS Oregon family, and hope that you are enjoying the challenge of graduate school thus far!
This note is to invite you to join us at our (virtual) Scholar Orientation event on Wednesday, October 5, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. This event is specially designed to introduce first year scholars to the leadership at their respective institutions and also to some of the benefits (and expectations!) of being an ARCS Scholar. Donors and Chapter Liaisons are also invited.
At the end of the evening, we will be breaking out into separate rooms by institutional affiliation. We ask that each scholar be prepared to introduce themselves with a two-minute “elevator speech” that includes the name of their donor/Chapter Liaison, academic highlights, professional background, and personal information (i.e., hobbies, volunteer work, talents). You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about your individual graduate program, your university, or ARCS.
