Sheila Goodwin 2026 ARCS Light Recipient
ARCS Foundation Oregon’s 2026 ARCS Light Honoree is Sheila Goodwin.
Sheila joined ARCS Foundation Oregon in 2012 and set to work growing the ARCS Oregon membership in the Corvallis area. She opened her home for a series of lunches to encourage others to join ARCS, and this work resulted in a strong membership base that continues to expand in Corvallis. She eventually served on the Board as Chair of Member Relations. With her husband, Mike (who retired as President and CEO of the OSU Foundation), Sheila was instrumental in setting the tone for the very strong relationship ARCS Oregon enjoys with Oregon State University and the Oregon State University Foundation.
The Goodwins funded an ARCS matched endowment in 2020 at OSU in the College of Agricultural Science, Marine Mammal Institute. The endowment will support ARCS Scholars at OSU in perpetuity. In addition, they continue to support a Named Scholar Award every three years. Always the consummate hostess, Sheila has hosted numerous pizza parties and Celebrate the Scholars events for ARCS Scholars and members in their home.
Most recently she utilized her connections to assist the Philantrhopy Committee in crafting a case statement for scholar awards and an operations case statement for use in the Chapter's development work. The Chapter was in need of a more cost-effective CRM system, so Sheila introduced us to an individual who is familiar with CRM systems. This introduction led to discovering a new sytem that will save the Chapter thousands of dollars each year. If Sheila is on your committee, you can be certain that things will get done and progress will be made. She embodies the true spirit of an ARCS Light!
Sheila was slated as President-Elect for 2026 and will become President in July 2027.
Congratulations to Sheila!
