Danielle Robinson

Having earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Danielle spent the first 20 years of her career as a systems engineer, manager, and deputy chief engineer at Lockheed Martin, working on projects ranging from satellites and military ground communications to submarines. Looking to spend more time with her two sons before they headed to college, she transitioned to independent engineering contracting and tutoring middle and high school students in all things STEM-related.

In addition to her paid work, Danielle has been a member of ARCS for 10 years through the Metro-Washington Chapter, serving at various times as chapter VP Membership, VP Communications, and Chapter President. She has also served at the National level on DEI and LPR committees and is currently the National Secretary. Danielle has been deeply involved in coaching, mentoring, and judging VEX and FIRST robotics teams at the middle and high school levels, traveling with her students to competitions across Virginia and nationally. Further underscoring her commitment to contributing to education at all levels, she has served on several education-related committees, including math curriculum and textbook selection in Virginia, and most recently developing the strategic plan for Oregon City Public Schools.

With her husband of 25 years, Danielle has raised two boys, one in college and one recently graduated, and they are now navigating the new world of empty-nesters. In her free time, she enjoys traveling (having visited 27 countries and lived on three continents), reading historical fiction, and elaborately decorating sugar cookies.
