You are invited to attend the Portland 2013 Scholar Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 to hear about how our ocean is under increasing pressure — from overfishing to ocean acidification to a growing coastal population. We will have a far different ocean than we have experienced in recent human history, and we will need new approaches to science and policy for ocean stewardship according to our Keynote Speaker, Mark Abbott, Dean, College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, Oregon State University. Mark is also the President of the Oceanography Society.
