ARCS Foundation academic partners are the finest schools in the nation. The universities and departments that the Oregon Chapter supports are no exception; programs that ARCS Oregon supports rank in the top 100 nationally.
We are proud to announce two new exceptional partnerships with Oregon State University, the state’s only land grant institution. In addition to its land grant designation, OSU is one of only two universities in the nation to have Sea Grant, Space Grant, and Sun Grant designations.
Since 2011, ARCS Oregon has supported scholars in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences at OSU. In April 2016, ARCS National approved scholar funding for the Geoscience Department at OSU, the “Earth” component of the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences. OSU’s Earth Science program ranks #33 nationally and #34 globally, and its Geology program ranks #21 nationally and #29 globally.
ARCS National also approved scholar funding for the College of Pharmacy that ranks #33 nationally. The focus areas for the Department Pharmacological Sciences are Drug Discovery, Innovative Drug Delivery, Advanced Pharmacokinetic Modeling and Gene Regulation and Disease. The competitive program combines two years in Corvallis, two years of study at OHSU in Portland, and typically an additional four more years of PhD level work.
Our chapter now supports six colleges at OSU: the College of Agricultural Sciences; the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences; the College of Engineering; the College of Forestry; the College of Pharmacy and the College of Science.
