Cumulative Scholar Award Donors

With Gratitude To Our Many Scholar Award Donors

ARCS Scholar Award Donors 2005 - 2021

ARCS Foundation Oregon is grateful to the many individuals, corporations and foundations who have sponsored a scholar to positively impact university research and the wider society.

Chapter Scholar Awards

Every member in the Oregon Chapter contributes a minimum of $500 each year to the Scholar Award Fund, and these contributions combine to fund our ARCS Oregon Chapter Scholar Awards.

Cumulative List of Named Scholar Award Donors

Each Named Scholar Award of $18,000 funds one graduate student over a three-year period.  Named Scholar Awards are created by Oregon members and community members who understand the importance these awards make in recruiting and supporting world-class students at Oregon Health & Science University, Oregon State University or the University of Oregon.  Sponsoring a Named Scholar Award gives the donor the unique opportunity to engage with the scholar.

Elizabeth Holzenthal - Civil and Construction Engineering, OSU
"I really can't begin to describe how much the support of my donor (Alexander's) has meant to me. The generosity of them, their family, and ARCS has enabled me to support myself without having to worry about occasional financial burdens. However, what has made an even greater impact on me is how enthusiastic and curious ARCS members are about graduate level scientific study. It means so much to be able to share my goals, my struggles and my achievements with a group who cares. Your authenticity and kindness I will never forget."
Michael Berry, MD-PhD Candidate, OHSU
“Science and medicine is a long and difficult road that can feel daunting much of the time. When I got the email offer for the scholar award I was at the end of an intensive three- month study review period and one week away from my medical licensing exam. I was tired and downtrodden and wondering why I chose to pursue something as painful and competitive as medicine. However, receiving this scholar award was recognition of my commitment to scientific discovery and my small contribution to the improvement of health care. It gave me the confidence to keep going at a time when I really needed it.”
